In reply to Lorraine. Hello Lorraine, as of March 2021, there still is no \"digital nomad visa\" in Greece. The government is working on it, but so far, they have not announced anything concrete. However, if you choose to relocate to Greece, there are certain types of visas you could go for. As for taxation, you may want to check the double taxation treaty between the US and Greece: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/international-businesses/greece-tax-treaty-documents Best of luck!

Hello,
I am not self employed. I work full time for a California based company as a career employee. Would the Digital Nomad Visa apply to me? I’m unclear if I would be taxed twice – US Fed/State taxes and then also Greek tax. Or, is that just for those who are independent contractors? Thanks!

Hi! How long will these visas last? I read somewhere about the tax being cut for the first 7 years of your digital nomad visa?! Will it be possible to stay longer then a year and eventually resident there?

We are having the same problem, there doesn\’t appear to be anyone answering the phone at the Greek embassy in London. Longterm the Digital Nomad Visa sounds perfect for us.

Really hope this process comes live in the next couple of months. We are going out to Crete, Greece in April with the hope to stay for up to a year.

At the moment, the process to get a national d visa seems complicated and we are struggling to contact someone who can help with this.

Thank you for the update, I\’ll keep my eyes peeled.
