Hi, I am a US citizen, work remotely for a US company and am considering relocating to Portugal, initially for 6-12 months. From what I have read, the temporary visa seems like the right thing for me. Can you comment on how Portuguese taxes apply to this situation?

In reply to Robert. Hello Robert, unless the visa or residence permit that Italy issues you with allows you to live in other EU countries, you would not be able to live in Portugal with the D7 visa in this scenario.

If I were to work for a company in Italy and do real-time working for them from Portugal would I be eligible for living there for, let\’s say, a year? We\’re not talking passive income or youtube or anything like that, we\’re talking actively working for a company in a EU-country.

Hi, does the income need to be passive? What if there is consistent income of about 6000 Euros per month from an online business that requires actual work. Can one still apply for the D7 visa? Thanks!
